David Tarras
David Tarras is the founder of Tarras Defense and a federal criminal defense attorney who represents individuals and businesses in complex government investigations, white collar matters, healthcare fraud cases, cybercrime matters, cryptocurrency-related investigations, and serious criminal cases nationwide. He is known for his strategic approach to high-stakes litigation, extensive federal and state court experience, and ability to navigate matters involving government agencies, parallel proceedings, and emerging technologies.
In addition to his legal practice, David is deeply committed to supporting veterans and service members. He has a longstanding interest in military history, special operations, and the challenges faced by those returning from combat. David holds a master’s degree in Irregular Warfare and Counterinsurgency and has dedicated significant time to understanding the intersection of military service, trauma, mental health, and the law. Through both pro bono and private representations, he works to educate veterans about their legal rights, advocate for fair treatment within the justice system, and help ensure that the unique realities of military service are properly understood and considered when legal issues arise.
