Don Bindler
Don is a Managing Director at Apollo Global Management in commercial real estate credit. In that position, he is responsible for managing the US large loan portfolio and oversees loan workouts and modifications. Don has spent more than 30 years in real estate finance holding roles in origination, underwriting, acquisitions and portfolio management. Prior to joining Apollo in 2019, Don was Senior Vice President and Partner at H/2 Capital Partners. Earlier in his career, he held positions at Hypo Real Estate Capital Corp and Capital Lease Funding. Don began his career as an environmental consultant for the EPA.
Don graduated magna cum laude from Colby College with a BA in Economics-Mathematics and received his MBA from Columbia Business School and London Business School. Don is an active supporter of veteran and marine conservation causes. He is the co-head of the Apollo Veterans Network, along with managing a grant from the Apollo Opportunity Foundation to The Honor Foundation. Don works closely with One with the Ocean, a non-profit organization of open water swimmers dedicated to providing equitable access to the ocean to foster the next generation of environmental stewards.
Don spends as much time as possible in and around the ocean. He is an avid ocean swimmer and scuba diver. Don has been diving for more than 35 years and a Divemaster for the past 20. Don lives in Hermosa Beach, CA with his wife, Amy, and triplet sons. Don’s son is carrying forward his love of the ocean, currently studying marine biology at the University of Miami.
