Force Blue Finishes Coastal Conservation Ops, Makes Plans for Super Bowl LVI

FORCE BLUE recently wrapped up its “Coastal Conservation Ops” tour with Pepsi Stronger Together and the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission in Anna Maria Island, FL, leading a marine debris removal operation that utilized over 100 volunteers to retrieve over a half- ton of ghost fishing gear and trash from the waters adjacent to the Anna Maria City and Rod and Reel piers.

Anna Maria Island was the final stop in a summer-long tour that also included marine conservation missions in Destin, Jupiter and Lauderdale-by-the-Sea. All totaled, over 400 community volunteers, local divers and public and private sector partners took part in what turned out to be an incredibly successful summer of collaborative conservation.

KELP IS ON THE WAY!

FORCE BLUE now turns its attention west — to Los Angeles County and Super Bowl LVI — where, together with partners from NFL Green, the Los Angeles Super Bowl LVI Host Committee, The Bay Foundation, the Cabrillo Marine Aquarium and others, Special Operations veterans from FORCE BLUE will be leading a day-long “Super Bowl LVI Championship Dive” to restore a kelp forest in advance of Super Bowl LVI.
