FORCE BLUE Transports NFL Green’s “Golden Shovel” to Tampa

(Miami, FL / Tampa, FL) – FORCE BLUE veteran Andy Gamberzky played a key role in last month’s passing of NFL Green’s “Golden Shovel” from one Super Bowl host city to the next.  Donning mask, fins and SCUBA gear, Gamberzky swam (or appeared to swim) the symbolic talisman over 200 miles from Miami, home to Super Bowl LIV, to Tampa, which will play host to the game in February.

Timed to coincide with the start of the 2020-21 NFL season, the transfer marks the start of the environmental and sustainability activities that NFL Green and Tampa Super Bowl Host Committee will be supporting in the run-up to Super Bowl LV — including 100 Yards of Hope, FORCE BLUE’s ongoing coral reef restoration effort which began last year in Miami.

Gamberzky’s Arthurian effort was captured in a video press release sent to media outlets by NFL Green, as well as in “Gambo & The Golden Shovel” and a slightly longer, more liberty-taking, short film produced by FORCE BLUE that you can see HERE.
