Super Bowl LIV Host Committee Enlists FORCE BLUE

Miami, Florida – On June 13th, in honor of the NFL’s 100th season and as part of the Miami Super Bowl Host Committee’s Oceans to Everglades program, seven (7) Special Operations Veterans from FORCE BLUE and the UDT/SEAL Association, working alongside researchers and scientists from the University of Miami Rosentiel School’s Rescue A Reef Program, the Florida Department of Environmental Protection (FLDEP) and the Phillip and Patricia Frost Museum of Science, successfully out-planted 100 Staghorn corals on to a local coral reef just offshore of Miami.

Funded in part by the NFL, Verizon and Pernod/Ricard, this multi-organization restoration effort, which the team hopes to augment in the months leading up to Super Bowl LIV in Miami, is meant to serve as a reminder that, through caring and community cooperation, we can rescue, preserve and restore critically-threatened, vitally important places like the Florida Coral Reef Tract.
